Web Development
Do I own the code after my project is built?
Quick answer
Yes. At Nextline Creative you fully own your website or app code, domain, and hosting accounts once the project is handed over — there's no lock-in. We provide the complete source code, set everything up in accounts registered to you, and you're free to host, edit, or move the project anywhere afterwards.
Ownership should be written into your agreement. On handover you receive the source code, typically through a Git repository, plus access to the domain registrar and the hosting or cloud account in your own name. That means you're never dependent on one agency to make future changes.
Watch out for arrangements that quietly lock you in — proprietary site builders you can't export from, hosting only the agency controls, or code you never actually receive. Always confirm ownership and handover terms before you start a project.
