Our Story
We started with
one honest
question.
Why does so much of what we buy feel disposable the moment we wear it?
Meera Nair asked herself that in 2021, sitting in her studio in Bengaluru, surrounded by fabric samples that felt wrong in a way she couldn’t articulate. She had spent a decade in fashion — studying at NID Ahmedabad, working at Zara’s design team in London, consulting for Indian labels — and she still couldn’t find what she was looking for in a wardrobe.
So she started making it.
Nova launched with six pieces, made in a small factory in Tirupur, shipped in recyclable packaging, and sold directly to fifty women who’d signed up to a waitlist. Every one of them came back.
Three years later, we’re still making things the same way — slowly, honestly, and with the belief that a smaller wardrobe of better things is the most radical act of style.

Responsible Sourcing
We trace every fabric to its origin. We work with mills that pay fair wages, use non-toxic dyes, and care about the same things we do.
Genuine Inclusion
Nova sizes XS–2XL across all categories. Because how clothing fits matters, and we're committed to getting it right for more bodies.
Enduring Quality
We'd rather you own five Nova pieces for ten years than fifty pieces for one season. Our quality standard is built around longevity.
How We Make It
Slowly. Honestly. By people we know by name.
Every Nova piece is made in one of three factories — two in Tamil Nadu, one in Jaipur. We visit each one at least twice a year. We know the owners, the floor managers, and the workers.
Our fabrics come from mills in Belgium, Japan, and Gujarat. We don’t compromise on where they come from or how they’re processed. Every dye we use is OEKO-TEX certified.
We produce in small runs — never more than we think we’ll sell. We’d rather run out than overproduce and discount.

Trained in fashion design at NID Ahmedabad and London College of Fashion, Meera founded Nova with a singular belief — that beautifully considered clothing should not be a luxury exclusive to a few.
Rohan Sethi
Head of Product & Sourcing
With a decade in sustainable textile sourcing, Rohan builds Nova's supplier relationships with rigour — tracing every fabric back to its origin and maker.
Aisha Kapoor
Head of Editorial & Styling
Former fashion editor with stints at Vogue India and Harper's Bazaar, Aisha leads Nova's visual storytelling — from lookbook concepts to campaign direction.
